Optimum Endurance (original Feb 68)

A quicky rhyme to bring a smile and roses to your cheeks - it certainly brought roses to mine I recall !!! The rhyme is on my loo wall at home and because I keep seeing it I keep adding or changing bits.

Some men have conquered Mount Everest
Some men have flown the North Pole
Some men have sailed the seas solo
For other men space was their goal
Some men have camelled 'cross deserts
Some men have dived oceans deep
Some men have plumbed noisome caverns
And some through dense jungles did creep
But despite their great feats of endurance
Their stout hearts would quiver and quail
At the thought (not too nice)
Of the south polar ice
Where a desperate man
With a loo roll in hand
Tries to squat in a ninety knot gale!
